“FOUND FOOTAGE” is a new DDH WCIPA conjured up with the Lords of Dank, @holygoatbrewing in honor of our upcoming UK trip to Dark and Wild, and it’s here to remind you that sometimes all that is lost cannot be found.

Next up in our series of UK heaters in celebration of our upcoming trip to Dark and Wild Beer Festival– it was a total no-brainer to tag the Holy Goat Brewing folks to whip up a CLEAR AND DANK IPA OF EPIC PROPORTIONS! SCARIER THAN GETTING MURDERED IN THE WOODS WITH TERRIBLE LIGHTING BY A WEIRD SPOOKY WITCH! BUT ALSO WAY COOLER THAN THAT!

Mashed with our typical base of @Riverbend Chesapeake Pilsner and Chit Malt, the HGB folks shared they they’re REALLY into throwing in a smaller percentage of Double Roasted Crystal Malt to add some mid-palate complexity and compliment the sticky-dankness we all know and love in a WCIPA. With that in mind, we wanted to flip the script and focus on maximum fruit mid-palate and maximum dank late-palate, so we hit it HARD on the hot side with Egger’s Riwaka in the boil and Columbus in the Whirlpool, as well as a hefty Hot Dip of Chinook Incognito in the Fermenter. Fermented low and slow and spunded for dat natural carb. Dry hopped FIRST and rather aggressively with HBC-630, Citra, and a fat dab of Columbus Cryo. Then dry-hopped a second time with something super duper fun and exciting (AND SPOOKY?!): a custom Citra and TANGERINE Liquid Lupulin hop extract blend.

Similar to literally biting into a Tangerine, a surprising amount of coniferous flora steeped in fear and mysticism, Blueberries coated in like a seriously surprising amount of Fir and Sap, sticky Mango wedges dipped in a light Caramel, the dankness in a parking lot before a Ghost concert, and that first righteous pint of Headhunter you had from way back when. 

Damn. Seriously, this really fuckin rips. Toeing the line deftly between old-school and new-school WCIPA, and doing it with finesse.

This is clear, it is SLIGHTLY Malt-forward, it is very fruity, it is a beautiful Orange hue, it is bitter, it is dry, and it is dank. Hell yeah. Shred that gnar gnar. Summon that witch. But maybe try to hold the camera steady, okay? Jesus…

Whatever you do, don’t go running into the woods after a witch. Or to find your friends. Or at least bring a better camera operator. Or multiple camera operators? Or like maybe some lights? Or wait til morning?
