“What Goes Up” is here to help cleanse you of your Summer Scaries. Modeled after everyone’s favorite fruit-cake-that-isn’t-fruitcake, the Pineapple Upside Down Cake (if you disagree, I regret to inform you that you are wrong).
Two years ago, our buds Jackie O’s Brewery invited us out to Athens, Ohio to whip up a multitude of projects, and now that our BA Barleywine out there is almost ready (YEAAAAHHH!), it felt fitting to brew our side of the collab. Out in Athens, the first thing we brewed was a Mixed Culture Hard Seltzer modeled after a Pineapple Upside Down Cake, so this was the natural progression. This is that same approach, but in our “GF Sour” form with a new “Cake” treatment we are trying to lock in!
We took our GF Sour base, added in Pineapple, Brown Sugar, Caramel, Vanilla, and a bit of Cherries, and then conditioned that on Gluten-free Granola and Cake.
It tastes like a cake that just came out of the oven and pulled a Fresh Prince (got flip-turned upside down). But also it’s a GF Sour. Pineapple, cake, baked goods, a kiss of Cherry, Brown Sugar and Caramel…we packed alllllll the flavors into one beautiful little morsel.
