Have you ever dipped your Fries into your Chocolate Milkshake? Have you ever had this specific combo from an unnamed restaurant named after that dude Dave’s redheaded daughter? The one with the square burgers? How is that combo so goddamn good?!
In keeping with our 4/20-all-month celebrations, we absolutely had to tap our trippy brethren Tripping Animals Brewing (also in celebration of their Irie Jungle in Doral, FL THIS WEEKEND!). We figured this was about as insane as we could get, so we steeped our GF Sour base on real Potato Chips and French Fries, then added in Non-Dairy Ice Cream mix, Chocolate Cream, Vanilla, Marshmallow, Sea Salt, and Brown Sugar. Yes, we really did steep many fried potatoes in this at a rate of >6#/bbl. SO MANY GODDAMN POTATOES WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS!
Honestly, this is incredibly spot-on. It tastes like you’re dipping French Fries into a Chocolate Shake. But also it’s a GF Sour. Chocolate up front, Potato Chips and starchy Fries mid-palate, and a touch of Sea Salt and acid on the back-end.
Every once in a while we genuinely talk internally about maybe taking an idea too far. But then we inevitably knock it out of the park. BIG BIG THANKS to our trippy brethren for the faith in our execution of this whacked out bastardized project. As one of our brewer’s said, “This is God’s mistake.” COME SEE FOR YOURSELF!
