“Phantom Reset” is a new, cool, sexy, jazzy Hazy Juicy DDH Oat IPA. OMG SO MUCH STUFF!
In an effort to let our production staff flex a little more of their muscles, we asked them to come up with the hop blend for a few upcoming Hazy IPA’s, and this is the first of them! They wanted to focus on some hops that we’ve found work well with an Oat-laden background and this one’s a slammer! They’re the ones who handle the hop bags for dry-hopping, so we wanted to let their minds wander with some combinations based on their personal experiences with the hops.
Mashed with Riverbend Malt Cumberland Pils to provide a soft malt backbone to support Proximity Malt Oats and Flaked Oats. It was then hopped in the Whirlpool with El Dorado for a fruity-breakfast-cereal hop note. We then fermented it with our House IPA yeast and spunded it for natural carbonation. It was dry hopped at first with Ekuanot for a nice overripe Pineapple note, and then hammered in the second dry hop with more El Dorado and Ekuanot, as well as a hefty dose of Mosaic and Citra Cryo to elevate the overall fruity character.
We experience the aforementioned things: overripe Pineapple, fruity-breakfast-cereal, Tangerine zest, fresh-pressed OJ, and a bit of sweet Berry compote.
We’re loving how well this one came together and are extremely excited to present the first in a series of beers designed by our production crew! So if ya see em, raise a glass and give ‘em a toast cuz they’re what makes this place run!
