We could not possibly be more proud, nor more pleased, to introduce our first Red Wine Blend, “Madness Reigns”. A beautiful, full-bodied Red Blend comprised of Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes, all grown organically and in North Carolina!

Let’s take it back to Fall 2023, right around the beginning of October. We worked with our very dearest buds @gabdooder and @piccionevineyards and got our hands on some EXTRA CHOICE organically-grown Montepulciano and Sangiovese grapes, grown right here in NC! We processed the lots separately, allowing about two weeks of skin-contact fermentation on each varietal. We simply crushed/destemmed the whole clusters directly into stainless tanks and allowed the natural yeast and bacteria to do all the work! After about 10 days, we pressed all the juice off and allowed the resulting Wine to ferment to total dryness.  With the Montepulciano, specifically, we also did some whole cluster Carbonic Maceration, which we released on it’s own almost exactly a year ago! (Fury of the Forsaken 2023!)

We then blended the Sangiovese and Montepulciano together, along with a splash of the Carbonic Maceration Montepulciano for a bit more depth, and allowed the blend to mature for the last year. We find it opens up with a huge, bold nose of Montmorency Cherry without the sweetness, bold Cranberry meets real Leather, a fantastic tannin structure, just a touch of bright acidity, and a superb balance throughout. A Red Wine for any occasion, seriously.
