THE LORD OF GUMMY RINGS HAS BLESSED US YET AGAIN!.
“Mon U Mental” is a Sour Watermelon Ring Kettle Sour Ale w/ Marshmallows, and it’s pretty obviously the cousin of a beer we just fully sold out of (“Fun de Mental”). That last batch went over so well that we thought it’d be fun to make a few tweaks to the base and swap out the Peach Rings for Watermelon Rings. And here we are!
Mashed with a base of Riverbend 2-Row, along with Proximity Malt Atlantic Wheat and Dextrin malt, and some Flaked Oats. Soured overnight in our kettle, and Whirlpooled with a staggering amount of Sour Watermelon Ring candies. We then fermented this low and slow with our House IPA yeast and conditioned it on twice the normal amount of Marshmallow we typically use for our weird Kettle Sour Ales.
The result is….Sour Watermelon Rings covered in Marshmallow. Super pleasant tartness, medium body, and lots of…candy…notes…? That’s kinda all there is to say.
