If you haven’t heard of the Tripping Animals crew out of Southern Florida, you’ve probably been sleeping under a rock. They’ve been whipping up some weird and wacky beers, and we finally had the opportunity to host them (we brewed a Purple Carrot and Honeydew DIPA last summer…), so we wanted to pull out all the stops.
We’ve both been pushing the “Fruited Kettle Sour w/ Marshmallow” game for a while, so we felt it fitting to take both brewery’s approaches, and mash them together with something new. We started off with Riverbend Malt 2-Row, a whole mess of Oats, and a big heaping of Honey Malt. Soured overnight in our kettle, boiled and then fermented with our House IPA yeast, we then layered in Pomegranate, Strawberry, Tangerine, Maple Granola, Vanilla Granola, Vanilla, Marshmallow, and a heap of Lactose to round it out.
This is pretty much a gigantic 8.5% ABV breakfast parfait in smoothie form. Big notes of walking up to a smoothie bar and saying “Yeah, I’ll have the one with Pomegranate, Strawberry, Tangerine, Granola, Vanilla, Maple, and…uh…Marshmallow. Ohhhh yeah, babyyyyyyy.”
