OHHHHHH LAWDY! IS IT A BIRD?! IS IT A PLANE?! IS IT BORDERLINE GODZILLA I.P. WITH A SURREAL TWIST?! MAYBE! BUT OUR LAWYERS THINK IT’S OKAY!

“KAIJU” is here! With a PB&J treatment! It’s what happens when you ask for over 5 years to see a TAPROOM-ONLY heavily-adjuncted Imperial Stout series. Don’t ask how it happens, but it’s probably got to do with radiation and big monsters and maybe some subplot about, like, an alternate upside-down Earth within the Earth or something like that… OH! The beer?! Haha, yeah that’s just a THICCC Imperial Stout base, adjuncted to the heavens. We’ll change up the adjuncts, aiming for a monthly release, and try to keep things fresh AF for y’all weirdos. And as mentioned: NO DISTRO! TAPROOMS ONLY!

We started off with a base of @riverbend Southern Select, layered on a bevy of specialty and roasted malts, ran a vigorous boil for over 6 hours, and hit it with some Brown Sugar in the kettle to get the base of this THICCC Imperial Stout where we wanted it.

We fermented it low and slow, cold-conditioned it for many moons, and then threw it began the long and laborious process of further conditioning on a boatload of adjuncts. First up, we’ve been doing a LOT of “Peanut Butter and Jelly” processing around here, so this seemed like a very logical first step. We dosed in a blend of freshly roasted and freshly ground Peanuts, a dash of Honey, and a veritable typhoon of Grape Juice.

This “KAIJU” sat on the mountain of adjuncts for a long while prior to packaging, and the result is pretty spectacular. Huge, thick, sticky Chocolate-covered Grape up front, boozy-rich Honey-dipped Peanuts, and this is pretty much just a Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich made with ooey-gooey Brownies instead of bread. AND IT’S BIG AND SCARY AND ALL THAT!

WARNING: We used copious amounts of Fruit and Nuts and don’t recommend cellaring the cans. Keep it cold and drink it fresh, y’all!
