“I LOVE YOU…ALWAYS HAVE” is the continuation into our exploration of Classic American Ales. We’ve been hitting the West Coast IPA for a minute while we dial in our processes, we’re forever enamored with Pub Ales, and it seemed high time to revisit some more classic styles…particularly everyone’s favorite style to secretly love: Amber Ale.
Mashed with a grist of @Riverbend Chesapeake Pilsner, Chit Malt, Light Munich, and a dasg of Appalachian Wheat, and kissed with a bit of @proximitymalt Red Malt for good measure. Gently hopped in the Whirlpool with some Willamette for a “Classic American Noble Hop” twang, fermented low and slow with our Kolsch yeast (I KNOW, RIGHT?!), and spunded for dat natural carb.
Notes of toasted baguettes, freshly-roasted Chestnuts (no nuts were used in this beer!), that first time you raided your Dad’s fridge and stole an Amber Ale, something like how Fat Tire used to be, perhaps a whisp of grassy-floral goodness, and all wrapped up in a bright and clean finish.
Malty. Crushable. Smooth. Hell yeah. Make sure you tell your loves how you really feel, or at least ensure the message went through clearly. Don’t end up unrequited like this lil’ dude!
