The pandemic was hard on everyone, and we all know that one friend who got way too into the sticky icky and rippin’ some Cowboy Corduroy vibes. In true Cowboy Corduroy spirit, we teamed up with the metal-munchie-heathens Burial Beer to bring you a 4-part collaboration series based around the juxtaposition of being trapped indoors and being lost inside your own mind. The dichotomy of unbridled freedom and mind-bending creative pressures.
For the first release, we looked to highlight the sweeter cravings we all faced during the shutdown! We took inspiration from the Burial release posts where they highlight the flavors of the beer visually by filling a glass with candies and adjuncts…except we actually filled the fermenter with those adjuncts so they’re IN THE BEER!
“Twice Baked” is a DDH Candy DIPA with Peach Rings, Marshmallow, and Tahitian Vanilla Beans. Mashed with Riverbend 2-Row and Oat Malt, along with Proximity Malt Wheat and Flaked Wheat. Hopped in the whirlpool with a smattering of Mosaic and a gigantic charge of Sour Peach Gummy Rings, then fermented with our House IPA yeast before being spunded for dat natty carbonation. Dry hopped once with Eclipse and Meridian, and then dry hopped very aggressively a second time with Galaxy, Eclipse, Meridian, and Citra Lupomax before being conditioned on a gigantic mess of Tahitian Vanilla Beans and Marshmallow. If you think that’s a mouthful, just wait til you try the beer!
We experience a glass full of Peach Rings, Marshmallow, and Vanilla Beans just being absolutely drowned in Juicy Hazy Fruity DIPA. We nailed this one, y’all. Dank, fruity, hoppy, juicy, candy-y, marshmallow/vanilla-laden, awesome, and weird. It’s all the things and it’s friggin’ awesome.
