“Dream Whale” is a special Intercontinental Pilsner whipped up in collaboration with the loveliest humans @dreamstatebrewing (HEY, WILL!) and the local homies at The Whale. We’ve known Will for some time now, and when we heard he was helping to coordinate the upcoming Whale Invitational, well…we knew what had to be done.

We’ve been wanting to make an Intercontinental Pilsner for some time, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Plus all three brands love Pilsner, so that made it extra easy. We wanted to highlight a firm bitterness, but the hop characteristics of 3 separate continents: North America, Europe, and Zealandia (SHUT UP, NERDS! WE ARE NOT DEBATING THE STATUS OF NZ AS A CONTINENT RIGHT NOW!). Grassy, fruity, herbaceous, and bright. All the hop characteristics neatly packaged up into one beautiful and balanced Pilsner.

Mashed with a base of 100% Riverbend Malt, comprised of Chesapeake Pils and a dash of Chit Malt. Hopped with Mittelfruh throughout the boil and then in the Whirlpool rather aggressively with Sterling and Wakatu. Fermented low and slow with our House Lager yeast, spunded for natural carbonation, and laid down to rest in Horizontal Lager Tanks for many moons.
